Terms of Use
1. Agreement and Apple terms
By downloading or using Lentes, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. The app is licensed, not sold, under Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These Terms supplement that agreement; Apple’s agreement and mandatory law prevail where they conflict.
2. What Lentes is
Lentes is a personal organization tool for scanning, reviewing, storing, displaying, exporting, and reminding you about glasses and contact-lens prescriptions, lens supplies, eyewear, and eye exams. It is not a medical device, healthcare provider, diagnostic service, emergency service, or substitute for an optometrist, ophthalmologist, optician, or other qualified professional.
3. Accuracy and medical responsibility
Camera and text recognition may misread a value, sign, decimal, eye, axis, date, or unit. You are responsible for checking the result against the original prescription before saving, sharing, ordering lenses, or making any decision. Never use Lentes for diagnosis, treatment, emergencies, or to change prescribed care. Ask an eye-care professional when anything is unclear.
4. License and acceptable use
You receive a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Lentes on Apple-branded products you own or control, subject to Apple’s Usage Rules. Do not misuse the app, interfere with security or services, violate law or third-party rights, or reverse engineer it except where applicable law expressly permits that activity.
5. Your data and responsibilities
You control what you scan, enter, save, export, or share. Only use records you are entitled to handle. Protect your device and exported files, review recipients before sharing, keep original prescriptions when required, and maintain suitable backups. Deleting the app does not automatically delete records already stored in Apple Health or Calendar.
6. Apple services and permissions
The Apple Health app, Vision, Maps, Calendar, notifications, Face ID, the App Store, and other Apple services are provided by Apple and remain subject to Apple’s terms and availability. You can decline optional permissions, although the related feature may then be unavailable. You must comply with applicable third-party terms when using external services.
7. Availability, changes, and support
The app may change as Apple platforms, Apple Health data types, laws, and product decisions change. Features can be added, altered, suspended, or discontinued. Reasonable care is used, but uninterrupted, error-free, or permanent availability is not promised. Support is offered through the published support page without a guaranteed response time.
8. Intellectual property
Lentes, its original design, code, artwork, and documentation are protected by intellectual-property laws. Apple, Apple Health, App Store, iPhone, Siri, and related marks and services belong to Apple Inc. Your prescription and files remain yours or their respective owner’s.
9. Disclaimers and liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lentes is provided “as is” and “as available,” without promises that recognition, stored values, reminders, exports, or third-party services will always be accurate or available. The developer is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from use of the app.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights concerning intentional misconduct, gross negligence, personal injury where limitation is prohibited, or mandatory guarantees under your local law.
10. Termination
You may stop using Lentes at any time. The license ends if you materially breach these Terms. Provisions that by nature should survive—such as intellectual property, disclaimers, liability limits, and applicable-law terms—continue after termination.
11. Governing law and consumers
These supplemental Terms are governed by Portuguese law, without removing mandatory protections or courts available to consumers in their country of residence. For EU, EEA, Swiss, Norwegian, or Icelandic users, Apple’s Standard EULA applies the law and courts of the user’s usual place of residence where stated there.
12. Changes and contact
Updated Terms will be posted here with a new effective date. If a change materially affects your rights, reasonable notice will be provided where required. Stop using the app if you do not agree to the revised Terms. Questions can be sent through Support.
